I need to make a confession at the outset. A little over seven years ago, I can still vividly remember it: I woke up in the middle of the night, in excruciating pain after my surgery in hospital, and the only thing I wished for was for the night to end. I couldn't bear the sadness in my parents' and my family's eyes — and that day, I owed it to myself to never be in such an avoidable situation.
The whole situation would have been avoided if I knew exactly how to take care of my body and keep myself healthy. I realized it was never too late, so I started taking care of myself — what I eat and I educated myself along the way. That's when it hit me: if we inculcate these things into our lives — not as a goal, not as a program, but as a lifestyle — it becomes easy. Moreover, today's world asks us to be mentally strong, and a healthy body makes surfing through everyday life far easier. That's how my journey as the founder of Terra Fitness has been about.
